The travel industry has lost a bright star with the passing of Farzana Amod, Owner of Travel Pals, on February 7 at the age of 42.
Amod dedicated 22 years to the travel industry, beginning her journey in 2006 as a receptionist at Travel Pals. Kathie Cowie, former Owner of Travel Pals, said: “It didn’t take long for me to realise that this smart young lady with her inquiring, innovative mind was destined for greater things. With her ability to ferret out practical information and adapt to new technology, she very quickly became our ‘Google girl’ and was renamed ‘Googs’.”
In 2017, when Cowie retired, Amod took the helm of Travel Pals, continuing to build on its success. “She was loved and appreciated by clients and travel associates alike, working long hours and always going out of her way to deliver the very best service she could.
“I am devastated at the loss of our one-of-a-kind Googs. She was like a daughter to me and leaves a big gap in my life. My heart goes out to her family, many friends and clients. She will be greatly missed,” added Cowie.
