Rachael Penaluna has been promoted to MD of Sure Maritime Travel in Gqeberha
Penaluna has been in the industry for 35 years and has been at Sure Maritime Travel for 28 years. Says Penaluna: “We are re-inventing ourselves as travel agents. Technology and out the box thinking are making us more relevant than ever. I am very excited for the year ahead!”
WTAAA shakes up leadership
The World Travel Agents Association Alliance recently announced its newly elected Executive committee. Otto De Vries will continue to steer the organisation in his role as Executive Director.
The newly elected chair of the organisation is Wendy Paradis from Canada, supported by new vice chairs Paula Cortés and Dean Long from Latin America and Australia. Eric Drésin (ECTAA) serves as Secretary, Hamza Rahmat (MATTA) as Treasurer, and Mark Meader (ASTA) chairs the Land and Sea Committee, while Belgium-based Christian Möller heads the Air Matters Committee.
Dmitri Eremin switches to AfricaStay
Eremin announced that, after 18 years at Flight Centre Travel Group South Africa, he would be leaving his role as financial controller and taking on the role of MD at AfricaStay
“A huge thank you to my work family for a spectacular journey of almost two decades. I look forward to working closely with everyone in the South African travel industry in the years to come,” said Eremin.
