Michelle Minnaar, manager of XL Plettenberg Bay Travel (previously known as Harvey World Travel Plettenberg Bay), died from cancer on July 4, at the age of 61.
She was part of the Harvey World team for more than 20 years and is survived by her husband, Duncan, and her three siblings.
Athol Morris, the owner of the company, says he will remember Michelle for her amazing sense of humour. “She called a spade a spade and would not hesitate to enter any travel-related competition. Michelle’s advice to her clients was always precise. Should you as the client wish to differ from her, she’d tell you, ‘You are on your own, buddy – don’t come back to me if there’s a problem, as I will not be able to sort it out’,” says Athol.
Athol told Travel News Michelle was an absolute pleasure to have in the office, never taking time off and never late for work. “Her infectious laugh will be sadly missed by all.”
