After 28 years at Reynolds Travel Centre and 40 years in the travel industry, Lydia Norval, has retired as travel director and shareholder.
Lydia was born in Zambia and came to South Africa as a young woman and settled in Springs with her family. She immediately chose a career in travel, and stuck with it until retirement.
“When I met Lydia, she was a senior consultant for a major travel agency in the town dealing with blue-chip clients. She took a chance and chose to come to Reynolds Travel, and we are grateful for all she contributed and all she taught us,” says Mary Reynolds, md of Reynolds Travel Centre.
Lydia joined the Reynolds Travel Centre team as gm and was then appointed operations and travel director a few years later. Although she excelled at both corporate and leisure, her forte and her passion were for leisure and creating wonderful and exciting itineraries for clients, with incredible attention to detail.
“We walked the journey together through thick and thin, with tears and jubilation, shaping Reynolds Travel Centre into what it is today,” says Mary.
Lydia is looking forward to being in Australia with her daughter, Kim, and granddaughter, Sofia.
