Universal has confirmed plans to build its first theme park and resort in the UK.
Construction is projected to begin in 2026, with doors expected to open in 2031.
Set on a 192ha site just south of Bedford, the new entertainment complex will include a state-of-the-art theme park featuring Universal’s signature immersive storytelling, thrilling rides and cutting-edge attractions.
The UK Government has said the park is positioned to become the largest visitor attraction in the country, drawing an estimated 8,5 million guests in its first year. It also estimates that the park will generate £50 billion (R1,25bn) for the country's economy by 2055.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer praised the investment, calling it a major vote of confidence in Britain’s economy.
