After reducing the number of golf games during COVID, the Johannesburg-based Travel Industry Golf Club plans to be fully functional in 2023.
After 30 years, founder and chairman Jose Cruz this week stepped down as Chairman for personal reasons. Jose took the idea of an industry club and, along with the committee and willing industry sponsors, built it up to be one of the most successful business golf clubs in South Africa.
Now the committee has released the calendar for 2023. Non-members in the travel industry are welcome to join in.
The next three games are:
February 9 at Parkview, sponsored by Travelex.
April 13 at Country Club Johannesburg Woodmead, sponsored by MSC (to be confirmed).
June 13 at Country Club Johannesburg Rocklands, sponsored by TIC.
Hollard Travel, Tsogo Sun and Cruises International will sponsor games in the second half of the year.
The committee also announced that the annual derby match against the Cape-based Travel Industry Club will be held at Arabella.
