The Radisson Hotel Group has announced six new hotels in Africa, including two in South Africa, in a press release.
The Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre at OR Tambo in Johannesburg is scheduled to open before year-end and Park Inn by Radisson Durban Intl. Airport, the first hotel within Dube Trade Port Special Economic Zone, is scheduled to open in 2022.
Outside SA, the Radisson Collection Hotel in Bamako, Mali, is scheduled to open within the next six months, the Radisson Hotel in Addis Ababa in 2021, the Radisson Hotel & Apartments in Accra in 2023, and the Radisson Blu Hotel in Abuja City Centre, Nigeria, is scheduled to open in 2024.
Elie Younes, executive vp and chief development officer of Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We believe in the vast potential of Africa. The addition of the six hotels, following the announcement of Radisson Hotel Saint Denis (Réunion) earlier this year places us firmly on track to reach over 150 hotels in operation and under development across the continent within the next five years.”
