Relax Airlines, a new private airline in Ghana, is currently in the process of acquiring an Air Operators Certificate and plans to launch flights this year.
The airline said it had obtained an Air Carrier Licence and was in the fourth phase of applying for an Air Operators Certificate. The next phase of the process is the demonstration and inspection level.
“Relax Airlines is a Ghanaian airline, organised to take advantage of a specific gap in the domestic and short-haul aviation sector, to include the local, regional and international travel market, since a niche exists in scheduled commuter flight services out of Accra,” the airline said.
The airline plans to operate domestic routes from Accra to Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, and Wa. In terms of regional routes, it plans to fly to Lagos, Abuja, Freetown, Abidjan, Conakry and Dakar.
Additionally, it will offer charter services between Accra and Hamburg and Accra and London.
Samuel Wesley-Kirkman, Accountable Executive at Relax Airlines, said the airline was working towards launching flights later this year.
