PROFLIGHT Zambia is
expanding its South
African services with
a new direct flight between
Johannesburg and Ndola.
It has also appointed
Aviareps as its local GSA to
manage sales, marketing,
reservations and PR.
Proflight currently operates
services to Durban from
Lusaka and Lilongwe.
The JNB-NLA service,
which was launched in
September, operates on
Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays, departing from
JNB at 11h40 and arriving
in NLA at 14h10. The
return flight departs from
NLA at 08h05 and arrives
in JNB at 10h35.
“Proflight is spreading its
wings across the region. As
we grow, we need reliable,
professional support in
sales, which is why we
chose to partner with
Aviareps in South Africa,
says Barbara Namwila,
sales and marketing
manager of Proflight
Zambia.
ITC Rene Toner says
the service is great news
for the market. She says
Airlink is the major market
player on the route, offering
double-daily services on
weekdays and one flight
a day on Saturdays and
Sundays.
“SAA operates JNB-NLA
flights on Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Sundays
and Proflight has cleverly
organised its schedule to
fill the gaps on days that
SAA is not operating. This
is great news for engineers
flying up to the mines in
this area as they have the
choice of triple-daily flights
on weekdays. The additional
option should also bring
down the prices on a route
that is currently quite
expensive,” says Rene.
