Tintswalo Atlantic reopens
TINTSWALO Atlantic, on Chapman’s Peak in Cape Town, has reopened following a fire
that destroyed the main section of the lodge. Fire detection and fire-fighting have been
a major focus, and public areas and some of the guest suites have been completely
rebuilt. Twenty-four guests can be accommodated in 10 island suites and a twobedroom villa. A new marketing approach lets non-residents dine once a week.
Accor launches new economy brand
ACCOR has launched the first hotel under its new sustainably oriented brand, greet.
Greet Hotel Beaune has opened in Burgundy, France. The hotel has 52 rooms and
offers a restaurant, pool, garden and games room. Accor plans to launch more greet
hotels in Marseille, Lyon, Paris, Saint-Witz, Rennes, Bourges and St-Germain-en-Laye. It
aims to establish 300 greet hotels by 2030.
Radisson brand expands in Europe
THE Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its Radisson RED brand with the signing
of three new hotels in Portugal and Austria. The Radisson RED brand will debut in
Portugal in 2021 with two hotels: the Radisson RED Lisbon Olaias and the Radisson
RED Porto. Vienna will see its second Radisson RED hotel open in 2023.
Hilton brand expands Thailand offerings
DOUBLETREE by Hilton has launched two new hotels, in Bangkok and Phuket.
DoubleTree by Hilton Ploenchit is in the city centre of Bangkok, close to popular cultural
landmarks, nightlife and the Ploenchit Skytrain, which gives guests access to the rest
of the city. The DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort is located in the heart of
Patong and features pools, swim-up bars and various restaurants.
New hotel for Melbourne Airport
CONSTRUCTION has begun on a hotel development at Melbourne Airport, set to open
in 2021. The 464-room hotel is a dual-branded property operating under Accor’s
Novotel and Ibis Styles’ brands and will be near Terminal 4 in a new precinct, ‘The Hive’.
It will feature a gym and pool, a café, bar and restaurant, and conferencing facilities.
