Passengers aboard a recent KLM flight from LA to Amsterdam were surprised to find that their flight attendant was in fact the airline’s CEO, Marjan Rintel, reports IOL.
Passenger David Elliott shared a picture of Rintel, who is in her first year as CEO, on the Facebook group, Flying Blue Platinum.
Elliott’s post stressed that other top airline executives had taken on duties in uniform before, such as AirAsia CEO, Ricky Isla, who once took on ramp agent duties, while Philippine Airlines President, Captain Stanley Ng, wore his pilot’s uniform for a special flight from Manila to Perth.
“This kind of initiative allows airline executives to feel the heartbeat of their organisation – from customers to passengers to employees. It empowers them to make informed decisions about service improvements and enhancing the workplace environment,” commented aviation digital content creator, Mond Ortiz.
