Kenya Airways will resume three direct flights a week from Nairobi to Mogadishu, starting in February.
Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer of Kenya Airways, said the reintroduction of flights would encourage trade and ease the movement of tourists as demand rose among businesses and travellers.
"We are eager about the potential of re-establishing the link between Mogadishu and Nairobi through KQ," Thairu said in a statement issued in Nairobi on Tuesday, November 28.
The resumption of flights follows their suspension in August 2020 due to the global pandemic, and the reopening of Kenya-Somalia borders in July following years of ethnic conflict.
