HAVING been closed for a month for a "spring make-over", the upmarket 14-room Greenways Country House in Claremont, Cape Town, has reopened for bookings.
Greenways was one of two country houses in Cape Town to join the Relais Hotels' portfolio in November last year, the other being The Palm House in Kenilworth, and manager of the two hotels, John Rothman, says both showed promising winter occupancies.
According to him, The Palm House enjoyed its best winter occupancy ever, showing week occupancies of 80% and dropping slightly to an average of 60% over weekends.
"Much of the success of the Palm House can be attributed to Relais' Business Club which offers special rates to large corporations," he said.
