Delta Air Lines has postponed the launch of its new year-round non-stop service between Cape Town and Atlanta to December. It was initially scheduled to commence on October 25 with the start of the winter schedule.
Jimmy Eichelgruen, Delta’s director of sales for Africa, Middle East and India, told Travel News that the delay was a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing South African government international travel restrictions.
“The new flight is now scheduled to start flying from Cape Town to Atlanta on December 14, 2020,” said Jimmy.
The airline is expected to operate an Airbus A350-900 on the route. On the inbound leg, the flight will stop in Johannesburg before continuing to Cape Town.
