KLM restructured the
Flying Blue programme
to further enhance the
loyalty experience of its 15
million members.
Two key new benefits are:
Passengers can use a
combination of miles and
cash to pay for reward
tickets
Miles can be used
to purchase any
available seat on Air
France, KLM, HOP! or
Transavia, making reward
redemption much easier.
“This improvement has
earned us the Freddie
Award 2019 for Best
Redemption Ability in
Europe and Africa,” says
the airline’s Wouter
Vermeulen. “Not only
are the Freddie Awards
[for travel loyalty] very
prestigious, the votes
come from the passengers
themselves, which is
especially pleasing.”
Since June, members
of the Flying Blue and
Le Club AccorHotels
loyalty programmes will
be able to enjoy miles
plus points too. “Every
time our customers travel
on a flight marketed
and operated by Air
France and/or KLM, or
stay a night at an Accor
hotel, they will now
simultaneously earn both
Flying Blue miles and Le
Club AccorHotels Reward
points,” says Wouter.
