THE Calitzdorp Tourism Bureau is investigating the possibility of establishing a Garden Safari Tour where visitors can meander through the indigenous aloes and succulents that the town is famous for, but Cynthia and Ron Wege are taking this a step further in creating a garden for disabled tourists.
According to Cynthia Wege, the garden will have solid pathways which will allow easy access for wheelchair-bound tourists, as well as the elderly and Down's syndrome tourists.
"We also have a rich birdlife in our garden and the birds are used to people and quite tame so the disabled tourists could even sit and watch birds without too much effort."
She says the development should be complete within six months.
