Starting today, December 15, industrial action will affect rail services on CrossCountry and Virgin Trains, Greater Anglia and South Western Rail have confirmed.
Virgin Trains’ services will be disrupted today, December 15, and on December 22, as well as on January 5, 8, 26 and 29.
CrossCountry services will be significantly reduced on December 23, 24, 27, and 31. Alternative travel arrangements have been planned but travellers are advised to confirm these with the rail companies before setting off. Travellers are also advised to leave as early as possible, even if their train is not affected.
Train service delivery director at Greater Anglia, Richard Dean, said: “We are hoping to resolve this dispute through discussions with RMT union officials. A revised Christmas service will be in place on Wednesday December 27, along with alterations due to engineering works.”
Details on the revised service will be confirmed closer to the time.
