Here’s some exciting news! Turkish Airlines has advised the travel trade in South Africa that with effect from yesterday, Monday, November 15, vaccinated travellers from South Africa may enter Turkey without quarantine.
On departure from South Africa, passengers require documentary proof that they have been fully vaccinated (with two doses of vaccine approved by the WHO, except in the case of the single-dose Johnson&Johnson vaccine), and that 14 days has elapsed since the administration of the second dose.
Passengers under the age of 12 are exempt from submitting the PCR test.
Passengers between 12 and 18 years old who are unvaccinated, must quarantine in their residence in Turkey and be tested at the residence in order to be released.
Unvaccinated passengers or those who do not have documentary proof of vaccination as stipulated above must provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Turkey before travelling onward. They must then quarantine for 14 days at the stated address at their destination in Turkey. They may test to release on day 10.
A passenger locator form will need to be completed inside the 72-hour window before travel commences – see here.
