PURE Skiing has reduced the
number of ski resorts in its
product offering to seven.
Greg Taylor, gm of Pure
Skiing and Pure Sport, says
the company has decided
to refocus on the resorts it
knows really well. In light of
this, it is only selling resorts
that it has been selling for a
minimum of 15 years – the
company has been in the ski
industry for about 20 years.
He says the seven resorts
offer a mixture for beginners,
intermediate and advanced
skiers and cater for a range
of ski levels.
Four are offered on a
hosted basis during the
high season, which means
a South African tour guide
is based at the resort and
offers an entertainment
programme including dinners
and activities in the evening.
The ski resorts offered
on a hosted basis are St
Johann, Saalbach and Zell
am See in Austria and
Livigno in Italy.
Three additional resorts
will be sold on a non-hosted
basis – Val Thorens and
Val d’Isère in France and St
Anton in Austria.
Greg says the end goal is
to offer all seven resorts on
a hosted programme during
the high season.
Due to the volatility of the
rand, Pure Skiing will secure
the rate of exchange on
deposit, effectively freezing
the price, and is also offering
30% deposits instead of
the usual 50% as well as
deposits as low as R5 000
for its three-star offering.
Pure Skiing will also
launch a revamped website
soon.
