LAM Mozambique Airlines is to launch a direct flight between Pemba and Johannesburg, effective March 30th.
The flight will depart Johannesburg at 13h00 on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, arriving in Pemba at 15h40. The return flight departs Pemba at 09h40 and arrives in Johannesburg at 12h20.
Director of Dana Tours, Natalie Tenzer-Silva, told eTNW that it welcomed the new direct flight. “At the moment Airlink is the only airline servicing this route. We welcome more competition on the route,” said Natalie. “Clients not having to stop in Maputo to come to Pemba will save time and money.”
Charmaine Thome, gm of Aviareps Southern Africa, which represents LAM, said there were several new routes in the pipeline.
