Music lovers in Venice were recently treated to a string quartet playing Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons on board a large violin-shaped boat as it drifted slowly down one of the city's many famous canals.
The vessel, built by artist and woodcarver, Livio De Marchi, launched on September 18 as a tribute to victims of COVID-19, as reported by VOA News.
De Marchi created the boat, named the ‘Violin of Noah’, to symbolise the rebirth of the iconic City of Canals following the global pandemic.
“While Noah took the animals aboard the ark to save them, we will spread the art through the music of this violin,” he told Venezia Today.
