A chubby black-and-white cat, whose name is Gacek – Polish for long-eared bat – is officially the top-rated tourist attraction in Szczecin, Poland.
Gacek has a perfect five-star rating on Google Maps, higher even than the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle dating back to 1346.
One of his ratings is accompanied by the review, "I am very fortunate to have come here and meet this distinguished gentle creature." Another reviewer, however, left him with only one star, accusing him of stealing their sausage.
In August 2021, one person said they had flown from Oslo to see Gacek, according to Business Insider. "As expected, he didn't pay any attention to me, which made the experience fully wholesome. If I could have a dinner with anyone in the world, I would fly again in an instant to feed him,” the fan wrote.
Gacek lives in a wooden box on Kaszubska Street and gets so much attention from passers-by that a nearby animal shelter has asked visitors to stop showering him with so many snacks, contributing to his weight gain, but rather to hand in food in sealed containers to the shops on the street.
