With the country and the travel industry being brought to a standstill, agents should now have the time to engage with learning facilities as they ramp up during lockdown.
Travelinfo has introduced a new points and stars system to encourage agents to complete new up-and-coming workshops. The new dedicated “365/24 classroom” in the Agents Only section shows workshops to diarise and complete over the next few months. Each workshop features a fantastic prize or prizes, and once an agent has successfully completed a workshop, they are awarded an online certificate and their name goes into a prize draw.
Cruises International’s business development manager, Barry Daum, says while the team thrive when they are face-to-face with agents, members have been doing Skype meetings and training with agents on request. “We are also posting different learning modules on Facebook for many of our brands, like www.seabournacademy.com where agents can brush up on how to sell luxury cruising and what type of clients to look for.”
Though Barry has noticed many operators using webinars, Cruises International preferred a different route. “Most of our agents are mommies and even though they have every intention of logging in to your webinar, kids happen. We post dropbox links for training presentations which agents can refer back to in their own time, months down the line,” he says.
Linda Dempster, an agent-training professional, says she is training more people than ever before. She offers training on BSP Link and how to read the new billings, BSP recon with ADMs, QuickTrav invoicing and report-building.
