PHASE Two of Richard's Bay's Marina Lodge Hotel, which includes an eight-person lift for easier access to the hotel's four floors, will be completed in June this year.
"Although we have not received many complaints about not having a lift over the years, the shareholders felt that meeting the needs of the disabled and elderly guests are an urgent priority for 2000," says general manager of the Marina, Errard Sullivan.
The lift will be accessible from the outside of the building and once completed, it will be the only one of three lifts in Richard's Bay.
Since three rooms on the second and third floor have fallen away due to the construction of the lift, Sullivan says the shareholders will consider converting the two small conference rooms into an additional seven rooms, although no final decisions have been made yet.
