IATA Pay is a new payment

method available when

purchasing a ticket directly

from an airline website, with

the first transaction being

successfully completed this

month.

This initiative forms part

of Iata’s commitment to

transforming payments,

brought about from a

revolution of changes

in customer purchasing

patterns. With millennials

– who transact mostly on

their mobile devices and

through instant peer-to-peer

payments – now ranking

highly as a source of global

income in all areas, airlines

need to facilitate new

payment options through

both direct and travel agent

transactions.

Iata Pay is a highly

secure, faster and cheaper

payment method developed

around the new UK and

European regulations that

encourage the use of

direct debit transactions.

Payments are made from

the customer’s bank

account directly into the

account of the merchant

and can be instantaneous.
