Emirates will introduce its Boeing 777s with upgraded cabins to Johannesburg and Cape Town in September.
Johannesburg flights with the upgraded aircraft will be the daily EK765/766 from September 1, followed by EK761/762 services from September 25. The Cape Town daily EK770/771 flight will be served by the refurbished aircraft from September 20.
South Africa is the first African nation to receive the refreshed aircraft.
The four-class Emirates Boeing 777 will now feature upgraded interiors with new design elements, including modern colour palettes, specially designed Ghaf Tree motifs and wood finishes across all cabins.
The business-class cabin has also been redesigned, with seats in a 1-2-1 arrangement to offer privacy, aisle access, and more space.
All refreshed Boeing 777s include 24 premium-economy and 256 economy-class seats.
In addition to Johannesburg and Cape Town, Emirates will expand its network of cities served with the Boeing 777 to Lisbon, Dublin, Hong Kong, Malé, Kolkata and Colombo throughout this year.
Additionally, London Stansted will receive its second daily service with refreshed Boeing 777 interiors on EK067/068.
By September, the airline aims to serve 44 cities with its fleet of refurbished Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft.
