Mombasa ready for new cruise terminal
CRUISE tourism in Kenya is expected to receive a major boost after
the completion of a world-class cruise ship terminal at Mombasa
in August. The terminal will have arrival and departure areas, an
immigration office, reception counters, a lounge, restaurant and
souvenir shop. Phases one and two are complete, with the third
phase expected to be completed by September.
MSC reveals new cruise and AI device
MSC Cruises has revealed details of the upcoming Ocean Cay MSC
Marine Reserve: A Caribbean Paradise cruise departing from Miami
and Havana to Ocean Cay Island on November 9. The island offers
seven beach areas with sun beds and cabanas to rent, buffet dining
and street food options, and several bars. MSC also plans to launch
its new voice-enabled AI device, ZOE, found in all cabins on MSC
Bellissima, scheduled for christening on March 2. ZOE can answer
hundreds of questions in seven different languages and provide
information about on-board services and help to book a service.
ZOE’s design features advanced audio with far field microphones.
Its Bluetooth connectivity function enables users to connect their
phones to the device to listen to music, podcasts and more.
Virgin Voyages releases Scarlet Lady itineraries
VIRGIN Voyages has released itinerary details and cabin designs
for the company’s first ship, Scarlet Lady. The ship will depart from
Miami for a four- and five-night ‘Havana After Dark’ itinerary through
Cuba, with an overnight stay in Havana; a five-night voyage to Costa
Maya, Mexico, and a five-night Dominican Daze voyage to Puerto
Plata. Cabin features include a new Seabed that converts from a
full-size bed to a lounger, and mood lighting that automatically
adjusts based on the ship’s location. Cabins will also feature PIR
presence sensors that automatically go into energy-saver mode after
detecting when the cabin is empty, in-room entertainment with flatscreen HD TVs, mini bars, glam areas and a flexible wardrobe.
