Delta has issued a weather waiver for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Atlanta, and 28 other airports in the north-east of the United States, including LaGuardia and JFK International, for January 29, and 30.
“The largest potential for operational impact will be at the airline's hub in Atlanta, where Delta's team of meteorologists is currently forecasting a potential for up to half of an inch of snowfall on Tuesday, beginning in the late morning hours and continuing into the afternoon,” the airline said in a statement.
There is also a risk of icy roads in the Atlanta metropolitan area through Wednesday morning.
The waiver allows customers travelling to, from, or through any of the highlighted cities on these days to make a one-time change to their travel plans, at no additional cost.
Delta encourages passengers to check their flight status on the airline’s website or app. More info and a full list of the affected cities can be found here.
