Contiki has announced its latest itineraries in Asia, including its first trip to the Malaysian section of Borneo.
Borneo, the third largest island in the world, is politically divided among three countries: Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.
Highlights of the itinerary include visiting the Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Centre for orphaned and rescued Orangutans, watching sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach at Selingan Island and strolling through the natural jungle with a local guide.
Participants will visit a conservation centre in Sepilok to see the world’s smallest bear species, the Sun Bear, before taking a river cruise along the Kinabatangan River, where they will stand a chance of seeing Proboscis Monkeys, Hornbills, Gibbons and Pygmy Elephants.
