ROBYN Christie
has resigned
from Travelport
effective the
end of the
year to pursue
other interests.
Christie will
be handing
the reins to
Claudette
Thorne, who has been
appointed acting country
manager of Southern
Africa from December, 1
2017.
Claudette has been with
Travelport for over a year
as senior commercial
manager.
“It is very rewarding
for me to see the new
generation of women
leaders emerging and
in particular I
wish Claudette
continued
success.”
Christie didn’t
give details
on her future
plans, but said
it’s unlikely she
would leave the
travel industry
and planned
on using all
the experience gleaned
during her 37 years in
the industry to define the
road ahead. “The plan is
both terrifying and very
exciting.”
Guido Verweij, is
