CEMAIR plans to launch flights
between Cape Town and
Gaborone.
Miles van der Molen, CemAir
ceo, told TNW that South Africa’s
Department of Transport had granted
the route allocation to CemAir and
that the airline would meet with Air
Botswana in the next few days to iron
out details. Further information will be
released after this meeting.
CemAir first announced its plans
to operate flights to Botswana in
November last year. At the time, the
airline was operating flights from
Cape Town to Gaborone on behalf
of Air Botswana on a wet lease
basis. However, the route is currently
suspended.
Miles says when CemAir starts
operating the route, it will be on a
CemAir code. The carrier expects to
start servicing this route toward the
end of July.
CemAir flights between Johannesburg
and Gaborone are also on the cards.
