Celestyal Cruises has unveiled its refurbished Celestyal Discovery, which has set sail on the opening voyage of its Mediterranean season. The ship will also voyage to Jordan and Saudi Arabia alongside the Celestyal Journey for the first time.
The new Discovery
In the refurbishment of Celestyal Discovery, 47 cabins were added – 32 new suites and 15 interior ‘Cosmos Cabins’.
The suites include two new categories – 30 ‘Junior Dream Suites’ featuring balconies, and two ‘Grand Horizon Suites’ that are situated above the bridge and span 42sqm, including separate living areas.
Other upgrades include the addition of a new coffee bar and new restaurants.
Maiden sailings
Following its Mediterranean season, Celestyal Discovery and Journey will embark on four new 14-night repositioning cruises, as part of the winter season in the Arabian Gulf.
The new 14-night ‘Ancient Athens to Amazing Abu Dhabi’ sailings feature two new countries for the brand, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and four maiden calls: Aqaba in Jordan, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Muscat in Oman and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. The itineraries also mark the cruise line’s return to Egypt after a two-year break.
Celestyal Journey will depart Athens on November 22, calling at Port Said, with maiden calls at Sharm El Shiekh, Aqaba, Jeddah and Muscat, followed by Dubai, arriving back at Abu Dhabi on December 6, 2025 in time for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.
Celestyal Discovery will depart Athens on November 28, charting the same course with an additional call at Kusadasi, Turkey, arriving for its maiden call into Abu Dhabi on December 13, 2025.
The two returning 14-night ‘Amazing Abu Dhabi to Ancient Athens’ cruises will also feature across both ships. Celestyal Discovery will cruise from Abu Dhabi on March 6, 2026, charting the same return course and arriving back in Athens for the Greece and Mediterranean summer season. Celestyal Journey will depart Abu Dhabi on March 21, 2026.
