Cambodia’s Angkor Archaeological Park has introduced a new self-service ticketing system for the park and surrounding attractions.
Tourists can now purchase tickets online, through a mobile app or through self-service kiosks, in addition to traditional ticket counters, according to local publication Phnom Pen Post.
A total of 15 self-service kiosks have been installed, with six at the Angkor Enterprise’s ticket office, six at the Angkor Parvis hospitality complex and three at the Heritage Walk shopping mall.
The new digital platform will allow tourists to pay electronically with credit or debit cards. Previously, the process of purchasing a ticket for the tourist attraction involved taking photographs of each visitor and filling out multiple forms. The new system came into effect on January 30.
The park is home to 91 ancient temples, built between the ninth and 13th centuries, including the well-known temple of Angkor Wat.
