American Express has confirmed plans for a Centurion Lounge with a view of the Manhattan skyline at Newark International Airport (EWR) in 2026.
The lounge will feature a jazz bar inspired by the musical movement in new Jersey, along with a piano lounge for lounge music and cocktails. On the other end of the lounge, an archival collection of artifacts and antiquities will commemorate the state’s history. The lounge will also have a 130sqm indoor terrace overlooking the airport tarmac and Manhattan skyline, reports simpleflying.com.
For years, American Express has had lounges at New York JFK and LaGuardia Airports.
The company confirmed that the new lounge will offer Platinum and Centurion cardholders pre-flight relaxation and the chance to rest between flights.
At EWR, American Express cardholders presently have access only to the Delta Sky Club in terminal A or the Lufthansa Business and Senator Lounges in Terminal B, however both require passage on the respective carriers.
United Airlines operates flights from JNB and CPT to EWR.
