AIRLINK and FlySafair’s competition
tribunal hearing has been set for
July 5-10. The hearing was
requested by the airlines in order
to address and allay Competition
Commission concerns.
In February, the Commission
announced that it would not approve
Airlink’s request to purchase
FlySafair, citing that competition
could potentially be prevented in
the future should the acquisition go
through.
Airlink and FlySafair released a
statement at the time advising that
they respectfully disagreed with the
decision and would be approaching
the Competition Tribunal for an
opportunity to address and allay
their concerns.
