TK opens pet lounge
Turkish Airlines has introduced a pet lounge at Istanbul Airport for pets travelling as AVIH (Animals in Hold).
The lounge is a temperature-controlled environment and includes an outdoor terrace and veterinary supervision.
It can accommodate up to 32 dogs, 36 cats, and 10 birds at once. For security reasons, travellers themselves will not have access to the lounge as it is in a restricted airside area.
Pets can access the lounge if their departing flight has a layover of at least 60 minutes and if their connecting flight has a layover of at least 75 minutes before take-off.
