The Airports Company South Africa hopes to finalise the R1.85bn sale of the old Durban International Airport to Transnet by the end of this month, says acting md, Bongani Maseko.
The agreement for the sale was concluded at the end of the financial year on March 31, marking the conclusion of the airport’s relocation to King Shaka International Airport. Transnet intends to turn the old airport site into a container port.
