After a four-year absence, Air Tanzania is set to resume scheduled flights to South Africa later this month, date still unknown.
The airline will conduct flights between its hub in Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport.
Like others, the airline was severely affected by the global pandemic in 2020, and had to halt its operations to multiple destinations, including South Africa.
The airline has told media it believes there is demand for more scheduled flights between South Africa and Tanzania.
Tanzania is known for its exceptional wildlife reserves, the popular Kilimanjaro and the island beach destination, Zanzibar.
Additionally, the resumption of flights between the countries holds promising prospects for trade as it will facilitate enhanced co-operation, foster economic growth and reinforce bilateral relations.
