CemAir has resumed flights between Johannesburg and Margate. These flights, (the only scheduled services to Margate airport) are a lifeline to holiday resort areas such as San Lameer and the Wild Coast Sun. The only other air access is via King Shaka International Airport on the North Coast, which adds a two-hour, 200km drive to the popular family holiday areas of the lower South Coast.
