SAP Concur and Flight
Centre Travel Group
(FCTG) have announced
an expanded partnership
that will enable FCTG to
implement SAP Concur
Compleat in markets globally,
including South Africa.
FCM Travel Solutions will
implement SAP Concur
Compleat in South Africa over
the next 90 days.
FCTG had been working
with SAP Concur in South
Africa for about two years,
since FCTG took over
the Anglo account. This
roughly coincided with SAP
Concur opening offices in
Johannesburg during mid2017.
“We see major benefits of
the system, mainly driving
automation in a perfect
PNR. We will see online and
offline bookings moved to
a 90% to 95% automated
process, allowing our travel
managers to really focus
on our customers and
travellers,” says FCTG’s gm of
technology, Bonnie Smith.
While SAP’s Concur product
is a customer-facing online
booking tool for air, hotel
and other auxiliary services,
SAP Concur Compleat is an
automation tool that works
with robotics behind the
scenes to feed scripts into
booking PNRs and then into
a company’s mid back office
(i.e. its accounts function),
without the need for human
intervention.
The integration between
SAP Concur and SAP Concur
Compleat improves the
booking experience with
better seat selection options
and streamlined resolution
of ticketing and form of
payment failure resolution,
says SAP Concur. Its TMC
automation includes aspects
such as quality control, file
finishing and GDS ticketing
processes.
Angelique Montalto,
regional sales director of SAP
Concur South Africa, says
the company is excited about
the expanded partnership
but that it is still at an early
stage. “Local operations will
not change significantly. It
just means we have more
scope to offer world-class
travel solutions to our
customers.”
Globally, FCTG has been
a partner of SAP Concur for
over 10 years, leveraging
Compleat in the US. As a
platinum partner, the use
of SAP Concur Compleat by
FCM Travel Solutions globally
will ensure that mutual SAP
Concur global accounts have
full access to the current and
future points of integration
between the two products.
SAP Concur expects to
at least triple the annual
number of transactions FCTG
processes globally through
the introduction of the
system in all FCM markets.
