President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his desire to see the direct SAA flight to India re-established.
The President said as much during a recent business forum in India. The rigmarole of travelling, going
through Dubai, Europe and London to and from India had to end, the President said. “We would like
nothing better than to see SAA having a direct flight to India once again.” SAA cancelled its Mumbai route
in 2015. It has since emerged during the state capture commission that the cancellation may have come
after pressure from the Guptas in favour of Jet Airways, to which they are linked.
