The City Lodge Hotel Group is undertaking a largescale solar project at 25 of its 60 hotels. This follows a successful pilot study at the 118-room Road Lodge Centurion. The roll-out will see nearly 4 250 solar panels being installed at 24 hotels in SA and one in Namibia. Once work is complete, the panels will generate approximately 10% of the entire group’s energy requirements with a combined output of around 1,45 megawatts. The panels have an expected lifespan of 30 years. Installation is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Pictured, CLHG’s chief financial officer, Alastair Dooley.
