Hilton has opened the Hilton Cairo Heliopolis, but this is only the start of growing its footprint in Egypt. It also announced the opening of a branch of its luxury Waldorf Astoria brand in Cairo later this year, the first on the continent.
The 593-room Hilton Cairo Heliopolis is next to the 247-room Towers Luxury Hotel, which, after extensive renovations, will be rebranded as Waldorf Astoria Cairo. Hilton and Gulf Egypt Hotels & Tourism have signed agreements to operate the hotels under two distinct brands. After rebranding, both hotels will form part of the HHonors loyalty programme.
The renovations are scheduled for completion before the end of the year. All 247 rooms, and the lobby area will be redesigned, and a spa will be built. The hotel will include an amphitheatre with conference technology, two ballrooms, 12 meeting rooms, pre-function areas, and a business centre.
