As md for the UK and Ireland, Andy Harmer is responsible for the promotion and development of the cruise industry in the region through advocacy and trade relations. Additionally, Andy leads CLIA’s membership initiatives in the region on behalf of travel trade professionals and river cruise marketing affiliates, as well as the CLIA Executive Partner programme, whose members range from ports and destinations to ship builders, to developers and leading maritime organisations that provide critical business services and products to the cruise industry. During his more than 10 years with CLIA, Andy has been responsible for the creation and implementation of CLIA’s travel agent programme in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which offers an array of professional development opportunities, online and offline resources and material, training seminars and conferences for travel agents and agencies that support the cruise industry. In 2016, his role was expanded to include the introduction of the programme across Europe. In 2020, he began additional oversight for the River Cruise Marketing Affiliate Programme.
