The CAA of Zimbabwe has lifted a ban on LAM Mozambique Airlines and the airline may now use Zimbabwe airspace once again, according to Mozambican press.
Zimbabwe banned LAM from using its airspace at the end of June, according to local Mozambique publication Savana Independencia. The reported reason for the ban was allegations of outstanding payments owed by LAM to Zimbabwe for the use of its airspace.
The ban had added an additional 50 minutes on LAM’s Maputo to Lisbon flights, which are now back to their usual 10-hour duration.
The publication said the Zimbabwean CAA had not provided reasons for the lifting of the ban, but that fruitful negotiations were in place between the two countries.
