World Leisure Holidays has postponed all bookings for travel up to September 30, 2020, according to a notice to the trade.
Vouchers will be made available for deposits that have already been paid over.
Elaine Durr, operations director of WLH, told Travel News that clients could be assured that all funds paid to the operator were protected, and that it was offering compensation in line with its suppliers. “As an example, airlines are not processing any refunds and only offer vouchers. We are following the same process to allow the clients to utilise the full value of monies paid to us,” Elaine said. “Should clients opt for a refund, we will gladly oblige – and have done so – however we can only process a refund for the land portion as the airlines are currently not in the position to refund, hence a voucher being available to the client.
“We therefore encourage clients to opt for a voucher as opposed to a refund, allowing them to postpone and benefit from the full value of their holiday.”
Elaine said WLH had seen high demand for December but, due to the uncertainty of when international borders would open, had decided not to actively promote packages for October-December. “As soon as such a date is announced, we will most definitely step up marketing efforts for the period.”
