After SAA suspended the redemption of Voyager miles in a communication sent out on May 9, it has now confirmed that the redemption pause will end after August 31, 2020.
The ability to earn miles will continue as normal and SAA says a digital Voyager membership card is in development.
The digital card, which will reflect the new expiry date of each tier status and is in compliance with the Star Alliance requirements to access eligible Star Alliance lounges world-wide, will be available on the Voyager mobile app in “due course”.
A communication will be sent via-email and SMS when the card can be activated, says the airline.
The validity period of Nedbank Voyager co-branded credit and cheque cardholder companion tickets earned, or due to expire during the period August 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020, will be extended by an additional year.
The dedicated email address is still available for queries but the Voyager call centre remains inaccessible until August 31.
