The US government has announced changes to regulations regarding travel to Cuba, stating that cruise ships are no longer permitted to call at Cuba after departing a US port.
As a result of these changes, Miami-based MSC Armonia is no longer authorised to travel to Havana, MSC said in a statement. The updated Caribbean itineraries will be shared with guests soon.
Development Promotions, the GSA for Holland America Line, says its team will contact agents with existing bookings soon. If agents think their clients will be affected by these changes, contact the DP team by email.
Royal Caribbean said in a statement that all 2019 sailings on the Majesty of the Seas and Empress of the Seas would visit alternative ports in the Caribbean. Guests will have the option to cancel their current booking for a full refund, or keep their sailing date with a new itinerary and receive a 50 percent refund. New itineraries for 2019 feature a wide-range of port options, including stops in Key West, Nassau, Costa Maya, and Perfect Day at CocoCay. The company adds that they are working on alternative itineraries for 2020 sailings and will share those details with guests and travel partners as they become available.
