Emirates announced via Twitter on September 28 that it was dropping the requirement for face masks on all flights bound for Dubai and many others departing from its hub.
The decision to drop the mask mandate follows the announcement from the government of the UAE to suspend face coverings in most indoor spaces, according to Simple Flying.
The airline also specified that passengers travelling from or transiting through Dubai should bring face masks as it might still be mandatory when boarding an Emirates flight – depending on the destination country’s regulations. Passengers should check the latest COVID-19 updates for their final destination’s protocols.
