Qatar Airways will launch daily flights between Doha and Madagascar, following the signing of an MOU between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and Madagascar Civil Aviation Authority (ACM) to establish a direct air link between the two countries. A start date for the route has not yet been confirmed.
The MOU, signed by QCAA President Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri and ACM Director General Gervais Damasy, allows Qatar Airways to provide seven weekly passenger flights between Doha’s Hamad International Airport and Ivato International Airport, Antananarivo, reports simpleflying.com.
Currently, 10 international airlines operate passenger flights to Madagascar such as Air France, Airlink, Air Mauritius, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Turkish Airlines.
In early 2023, Airlink resumed all flights to Madagascar after a three-year ban due to a political spat.
